I arrived in Bar Harbor this afternoon around 3:30PM at a tiny little airport on a tiny little plane. There were only about 20 passengers on this plane. The flight attendant made us all sit in the back in order to balance the plane. I don't know what they were carrying in the front that the plane so nose heavy! Anyway we all had to wait outside behind a rope fence while they got our baggage off and delivered it to us. I retrieved my bag and started to walk to the motel. I had figured it would be about a mile and that is what it was. The motel is a cute little place, well maintained. I am in a tiny little cabin, notice how everything is tiny around here? Fedex had e-mailed me that the bike and trailer were delivered earlier in the day. I asked the lady about the bike and she said there was nothing delivered. She said who signed for it and I told her someone named ABEVERAGE! I have admit it looked fishy to me too! She said she knew a lady who ran the motel down the street who was named Beverage. She called them and sure enough they had the bike. Whoo, what a relief. I spent about two hours putting the bike and trailer back together and got everything working without any problem. I then walked up the road to the market and picked up a couple of things to eat along with a tiny box of wine. I told you everything around here is tiny. Tomorrow, I am going to ride around Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park and see what President Obama saw. The ride will start on Thursday.
Enjoy cycling up Cadillac Mountain--and enjoy descending even more!
