Bar Harbor Wed evening update

After I got back to the room, I cleaned my bike, took a shower and then walked down to the Lobster Pound for a lobster dinner. There must be 50 of these lobster pounds in the area and I don't know what makes one better than the other. I chose one that has indoor seating as it is a little cool tonight. When you get there, they show you all the lobsters in a big tank. After you pick one out, I named mine Butch, they put a number on his back to show that he is yours and then he goes into a big net with a few other lobsters picked out at the same time. Then they take the nets out back and drop them in a pot of boiling water which is cooking over a wood fire. After about 20 minutes, they bring a nice bright red lobster for you to dig in and eat! Delicious!!!!

  1. My experience in Maine along the coast was that you should choose the shabbiest most rundown lobster restaurant and without fail, they would have the best lobster around!!!
Enjoy your start tomorrow - hope no more flats!!!

  2. Hey Norbert:

What a great adventure. From your posts it looks like you're well prepared. I'll be looking forward to your daily entries. New bike and trailer! Wow! I've heard good things about both your bike and trailer. 10 mile flat, might as well get the glitch out of the way early so you can enjoy the rest of the trip.

Take care my friend and be safe!!
